Are You and Your Property Ready for Wildfire?
Fire experts across the state are on the edge of their seat in anticipation of the next fire start in Montana whether the cause is from a natural lightening start or human. The past few years Montana has experienced a mild season, creating a perfect scenario for large wildfires across the state this summer. One expert mentioned that parts of Montana are experiencing conditions worse than that of the historic 1910 fires. Please don’t take this fire season lightly, take the time to make sure you and your loved ones are prepared.
Several tips to get you started:
1. Have you checked to make sure your defensible space is adequate, have you maintained it?
2. Have you cleaned off your roof, gutters, porch, etc… of debris (natural and household)?
3. Have you checked over your homeowners insurance policy? Do you have enough insurance?
